Lydian Junction creates intense, irreverent, interdisciplinary live art at the intersection of performance, video art, installation, music, and dance.
Lydian Junction was born in 2011, when New York based director Sarah Cameron Sunde brought together dancer Dages Juvelier Keates, composer Christopher Berg and actor Oliver Burns to experiment with performance forms and content. Each member in the cohort has between 13-40 years experience working locally and internationally in their individual mediums. Their interdisciplinary experimental live art and video works honor each individual while striving to find a collaborative practice that can sustain itself in the modern economy. Lydian Junction has developed performances for Since then, Lydian Junction has developed site-specific and/or durational performances for the [UN]Fair Art Show (UNTITLED #5), New Georges’ The Room (SATAN IN DRAG), The End (UNTITLED #4), Cornelia Street Cafe (UNTITLED #4.5), Brooklyn Arts Exchange (WHAT COUNTS), Hybrid Theatreworks (REVOLUTION), and Figment Festival on Governor’s Island (TO THE TABLE). Their work was featured in a 20-page spread in the second edition of CHANCE Magazine and has received support through residencies at New Georges, 3LD Art & Technology Center, Chashama, and the Watermill Center.
